GNU nano FOR LINUX


GNU nano is an open source command-line software that helps users to edit text files on the Linux shell. The project was originally started as a replacement of the easy-to-use and user-friendly Pico text editor. It is an official GNU package and it aims to solve the problems users had with the Pico text editor, as well as to add extra functionality.

Installation Process:



  1. Download the latest version from Softpedia

  2. Save the archive on your computer

  3. Extract the contents with an archive manager

  4. Open a terminal emulator

  5. Navigate to the extracted files

  6. Type '.\/configure && make' to configure and compile

  7. Run 'make install' or 'sudo make install' to install system-wide
