Go2Text is a handy tool for anyone tired of using their cursor keys or mouse to find specific words or phrases in Microsoft Word. With this macro, you can zoom right to where you need to go, quickly and easily!

Why Use Go2Text?

When you're editing a document in Word and spot something that needs fixing, you usually have to keep tapping those cursor keys or reach for your mouse. It can get pretty annoying, right? That's where Go2Text comes in! This nifty little macro takes you straight to the character, word, or phrase you specify.

How It Works

You might be thinking, "But how is that any different from using Word's Find feature?" Good question! Let's break it down:

1. Press CTRL + F to bring up the Find dialog in Word.


2. Type in the text you're looking for.


3. Hit ENTER.

You’ll jump right to the text you wanted. But hold on! The Find dialog is still open. To get back to your work, you'll need to press ESC or click the Cancel button. That’s an extra step!

No More Extra Steps!

This is where Go2Text really shines. When you hit ENTER, the dialog disappears automatically! No more fussing with closing it yourself.

Also, after using the Find dialog, the text is selected. So if you want to move your cursor back to the front of that text, you'll have to press the LEFT ARROW key too—another unnecessary step! With Go2Text, it takes you directly to the start of your text without selecting it (unless that's what you want).

Simplifying Your Work

If you're repeating actions with CTRL + R using Go2Text or SHIFT + F4 with Find, remember: Go2Text saves those two extra steps every single time! For some folks, that might not seem like a big deal. But trust me; all those extra keystrokes can really add up when you're trying to stay focused!
