Halma is a fun board game where your main goal is to move all your pieces to your opponent’s starting area. Sounds easy, right? But once you start playing, it gets a bit trickier, and you’ll really need to think about your moves to win!

Understanding the Game

So, here’s how it works: both players begin in opposite corners of the board. Your mission? Get your pieces into the other person’s starting area as quickly as you can.

How to Move Pieces

You can move your checkers one square in any direction. Plus, if there are other pieces on the board, you can jump over them! This jumping rule is super cool because it lets you leap across the board in one go!

The Challenge of Strategy

But don’t let those simple rules fool you! Even how you start can change everything. You can jump over multiple pieces in a row, which means you could zip from one side of the board to the other in no time.

A Unique Twist on Defense

Now here's something interesting: if you think just hanging out in your corner will save you, think again! If your opponent has even one checker in your area while yours are also there, guess what? You lose!

Multiplayer Options

If you're feeling social, two people can play on the same computer. Just keep in mind that sharing a mouse might get a little tricky! It would’ve been awesome if there was online or LAN multiplayer mode too—hopefully that comes someday!

Difficulties and Customization

The game has three levels of difficulty for AI opponents. You also get to pick from three different starting layouts and customize background colors along with each player’s checker colors.
