Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Countdown and News Reader is a super fun desktop widget! It’s designed to help you count down the days until the release of the Harry Potter movie. But since that movie came out back in 2007, we can’t really use the countdown feature anymore. Sad, right?

No need to worry! This widget can still keep you in the loop. It fetches news titles about Harry Potter automatically from the internet. You’ll see these news titles pop up right in the main window of the widget. Just click on any title, and it’ll open up in your default web browser. Easy peasy!

Customize Your Widget Experience

The widget runs on the Yahoo! Widget Engine, which lets you move it around your screen however you like. Plus, if you want it to blend in with your desktop theme, you can adjust how see-through it is in the Preferences window.

Add Your Favorite Characters

You can even show off your favorite characters from the Harry Potter movies as background images! The widget has four high-quality images featuring Harry, Ron, and Hermione already set up for you. Unfortunately, those are all you get—there’s no way to add more pics.

No Performance Issues Here!

If you're worried about slowing down your computer, don’t be! This widget doesn’t use much memory at all. You can run it in the background without any hassle. Want to change that background image? Just hit a button on its interface or set a new one in Preferences.
