Description
hrPING
hrPING takes the basic ping tool that comes with Windows and makes it way better! It adds cool features like sending multiple packets to a target host, gathering stats on the responses you get, and showing them all in a neat graph.
What hrPING Does
When you open hrPING in your command console, it shows all the options you can use right away. It works just like the regular Windows ping tool—sending ICMP packets to another computer and waiting for echo responses. But here’s the kicker: it has extra commands that let you tweak how it works and what info you get back!
Sending Multiple Packets
This app can send several packets at once (by default, it sends 4 requests), while the standard Windows ping only sends one at a time. You can even set how long (in milliseconds) to wait for a reply, adjust the time between pings, or keep pinging until you tell it to stop.
Traceroute Options
hrPING also has some great traceroute features, which help trace the path back to where data is going. It measures round trip delays in microseconds for super accurate results. Plus, it offers silent load measurements thanks to IP identification.
Detailed Statistics
The program shows timestamps for each request and counts replies along with any errors. You’ll see all of this in detailed stats after each run!
A Visual Touch with Graphics
A standout feature of hrPING is its 'Graphics' window. This handy tool gives you a visual look at the incoming replies. You can even change things up by adjusting the time scale or average recording time on the graph.
The Bottom Line
In short, hrPING is designed to give users more options than what regular Windows tools offer. With its ability to send multiple packets and provide deep statistical data, it's an awesome resource for network admins. If you're curious about trying it out, check out this link!
