What is Inspector FOR LINUX?

Inspector FOR LINUX

Finding out more information about one's Linux system is not a very complicated task. Usually, it involves having to use various commands.

But, since I want my information to be served to me in a fashionable manner, I was looking for an app that can do that until I found Inspector.

The beauty of Inspector, a free and open-source app, is that it does all of that (the running of commands part) for you. In short, Inspector is a very straightforward tiny application that provides a plethora of information and details about any Linux system.

Key Features:

  • Automatically runs a series of commands and displays information in seven sections/tabs.

  • Sections include USB, Disk, Memory, PCI, Network, CPU, and System.

  • Commands include lsusb, lsblk, lsmem, lspci, ip address, lshw-c cpu, and uname.

  • Offers a clean look and minimalistic design.

  • Built using GTK4 and Libadwaita and is compatible with various Linux distros.

Target Audience:

The simple answer is - everybody. If you, like me, are sometimes bored of commands and want your information printed in a proper GUI and not in the Terminal, then you'll absolutely love this app.

Functionality:

The whole point of Inspector is to offer you as much information about a system as possible. That's not to be confused with a system monitor, for instance, an app that's designed to offer you real-time information on how your system uses resources.
