JTrac is a super handy issue-tracking web application that you can easily customize. Whether it’s adding custom fields or setting up drop-down menus, it’s all pretty straightforward!
This tool comes packed with features like customizable workflows, field-level permissions, e-mail integration, file attachments, and even a detailed history view. So you’ve got everything you need to keep your projects organized!
You know what’s great? JTrac runs on Hibernate, which means it supports just about any database out there. If you have a servlet container that’s compliant with version 2.4, like Apache Tomcat 5.5.X, then you’re good to go!
The only thing to note is that JTrac requires Java 5.0, but other than that, the installation is pretty minimal.
One of the coolest things about JTrac is that it comes as a WAR file. You can get started by simply deploying this file! When the app starts up, it checks for your configured database. If it doesn’t find one, no worries—HSQLDB will be used by default.
This means if you're just looking to try out JTrac, you can just drop the WAR file into your servlet engine and log in right away.
JTrac lets you track all sorts of items like Bugs and Tasks easily! You can add various types of custom fields to your project tracker:
The latest version uses Apache Wicket 1.3.1 and brings some minor feature updates and bug fixes along with it.
