What is KBackup FOR LINUX?

KBackup

KBackup is a handy program that helps you back up any files or directories you want. It has a super easy-to-use directory tree, making it simple to pick what you want to save.

Easy to Use for Everyone

This program was made with simplicity in mind, so even if you're not a tech whiz, you can use it without any trouble. No need for advanced computer skills here!

Storage Format You Can Trust

The cool thing about KBackup is that it uses the popular TAR format for storage. Plus, your data is compressed using bzip2 or gzip, which saves space and keeps everything neat and tidy.

Multilingual Support

If you speak German, you'll be happy to know that KBackup includes a translation of the user interface. This makes it even easier for more users to jump right in!

What’s New in This Release?

  • Correctly limits slice size based on several factors:

    • Target directory (when storing directly in a local dir)

    • Temporary directory when creating a temp file for later upload via KIO

    • User-defined maxSliceMBs settings

    • Lowers restrictions set by Qt3 (4GB on 32bit systems)

  • Sorts directories first in the tree view for easier access.

  • Sorts files by size and timestamp correctly in the tree view.

  • Checks if an archived file isn't the backup itself before saving.

If you're looking to keep your files safe and organized, KBackup is worth checking out!
