What is Kconfigure FOR LINUX?

Kconfigure

Kconfigure makes it super easy to compile and install software with a graphical interface. If you’re tired of messing around with command lines, this is the tool for you!

How Kconfigure Works

With Kconfigure, all you need to do is click on the configure file in Konqueror. After that, you can easily configure, make, and install the source files right from the GUI. It’s really that simple!

Requirements for Kconfigure

Here’s what you need:

  • Version 2.x needs kdelibs (version 3.0 or greater) to compile along with Qt (version 3.0 or greater).

  • If you want optional checkinstall support, make sure to have checkinstall (version 1.5.3 has been tested).

What’s New in This Release?

Check out these new features:

  • Custom checkinstall options are now available.

  • You’ve got Qmake support!

  • The build install selector has replaced those multi-install buttons.

  • Bzip files are now supported.

  • A 'What's This?' support feature has been added.

Bugs Fixed

Kconfigure also tackled some pesky bugs:

  • A bug preventing checkinstall and make install from working on Suse Linux has been fixed.

  • The configure help system was acting up and not loading help info into the dialog; that's fixed now too!

  • Plus, many other minor bugs have been squashed.
