What is Linux Cluster Manager FOR LINUX?

Linux Cluster Manager

Linux Cluster Manager is a user-friendly graphical tool that helps you manage multiple Linux systems all from one spot. It’s mainly designed for Beowulf-style clusters but offers tons of features that are great for general system admin tasks. Plus, it even supports some options that aren't just for Linux, like block-level imaging!

Simple Imaging Made Easy

When it comes to imaging with LCM, it's super quick! Each node gets its IP and hostname changed so it can boot up as an independent node that's already loaded with all your apps. You can easily make changes using a file-based image—like switching the target device or changing the file system type. Imagine needing a new partition on boot disks filled across hundreds of machines! With LCM, you just change a property, re-image the node(s), and you’re good to go.

Remote Power and Image Collection

You can create images from a running system or even power on a node remotely through Wake on LAN (WOL). Just PXE boot it, grab an image, and then power off when you're done. Simple!

User-Friendly Operations

All operations are straightforward point-and-click actions. You don’t have to memorize any command line options unless you want to; everything is easy to set up without the hassle.

Key Features of Linux Cluster Manager

  • Easy-to-use GUI for all tasks

  • Real-time status updates for every node

  • Connect to individual nodes using your chosen protocol (like ssh or rsh)

  • Reports on processes running across the cluster

  • Automatically changes IP and hostname info for imaged nodes—just image and boot!

  • Covers file-level system imaging too

  • Wake on LAN feature for easy imaging

  • PXE boot clients are preconfigured

  • You can customize images—change target device, size, type, etc.

Status Monitoring Made Simple

  • Monitor nodes in real-time: CPU usage and network performance are tracked.

  • Create scrolling, scalable graphs.

  • Select which nodes you want to view or check all at once.

Scripting Across the Cluster

  • Easily run scripts on selected nodes without needing client agents.

  • User-selected protocols ensure secure connections.

  • You have both command line and GUI options available.

  • The software can be integrated into external scripts as well!

Requirements You Should Know About:
