Linux Cluster Manager is a user-friendly graphical tool that helps you manage multiple Linux systems all from one spot. It’s mainly designed for Beowulf-style clusters but offers tons of features that are great for general system admin tasks. Plus, it even supports some options that aren't just for Linux, like block-level imaging!
When it comes to imaging with LCM, it's super quick! Each node gets its IP and hostname changed so it can boot up as an independent node that's already loaded with all your apps. You can easily make changes using a file-based image—like switching the target device or changing the file system type. Imagine needing a new partition on boot disks filled across hundreds of machines! With LCM, you just change a property, re-image the node(s), and you’re good to go.
You can create images from a running system or even power on a node remotely through Wake on LAN (WOL). Just PXE boot it, grab an image, and then power off when you're done. Simple!
All operations are straightforward point-and-click actions. You don’t have to memorize any command line options unless you want to; everything is easy to set up without the hassle.
