ListShares

ListShares is a handy little app that helps you check out all the shared files on your computer or even on another computer in your network. It’s super simple and works only on a local area network (LAN). So, it won’t help you out over the Internet, but that’s okay because it has its own special purpose!

Why Use ListShares?

You might wonder why you'd want to see what files are shared on a computer. Well, sharing files can sometimes be risky! Many viruses spread through shared folders, so knowing which folders are open for sharing can keep your computer safe.

Simplifying Access

Now, Windows does let you see the shares on a machine, but finding that info isn’t always easy. Most folks don’t know where to look or how to get there. That’s where ListShares comes in – it makes this task straightforward and user-friendly!

View Remote Shares Too!

Another cool feature of ListShares is that it allows you to view shares on a remote system. This is something the built-in Windows method doesn't support! Plus, ListShares will show you everything—including those sneaky hidden shares.

Getting Started with ListShares

The first time you open ListShares, you'll see all the share info right away for your current computer. If you want to update that info, just hit “Refresh.” Want to check out another machine? Just type in its name and press “Refresh” again. ListShares will connect and display all the share details for that remote computer.
