Description
MACAdr
MACAdr is a handy command-line tool that helps you quickly find the MAC address of your computer and any others on your local network. Plus, it shows you vendor info too!
Easy to Use
No need for a complicated setup! This MAC address finder comes in a single .exe file. You can run it from anywhere on your hard drive or even from a thumb drive. The best part? You don’t need admin rights or any extra software to make it work.
How to Get Started
To use MACAdr, just open a Command Prompt window and type in its name followed by .exe. If you don't add any arguments, it’ll automatically grab the MAC addresses for all network interfaces like Ethernet, wireless LAN, or tunnel adapters.
Command Syntax
The command syntax looks like this: MACAdr.exe [[network] | [host] | [MAC]] [\/s:x]. If you’re unsure about how to use it, just type \/? or \/h in the CMD window for help.
- network: The network address where you want to find the MAC address.
- host: The name or local IP address of another computer whose MAC address you're trying to get.
- MAC: Enter this if you want vendor information about a specific MAC address.
You can only enter one of these three options at a time when running the command. Also, you can choose what separator to use (\/s:x), with space as the default.
Add Some Details
You can write MAC addresses in full (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) or short form (xx.xx.xx). Just remember that network addresses need all three octets with a dot after the last one (like 192.168.0.).
A Quick Summary
All in all, MACAdr is super useful for quickly identifying MAC addresses of both your devices and remote ones on your local network while providing vendor info too. Our tests showed it had minimal impact on performance and ran smoothly on Windows 10!
