MadCommander is an open-source, cross-platform graphical file manager designed to enhance your file management experience on Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X.
MadCommander operates like traditional file managers such as Norton Commander, allowing users to perform actions like copying, moving, renaming, deleting, viewing, comparing, and compressing files effortlessly.
The GUI is developed in Java, ensuring consistent appearance across supported operating systems. It displays all files, including hidden ones, from your Home directory by default.
Top and bottom toolbars enable quick navigation, content refresh, view mode switching, file searching and filtering, editing, and creation of directories.
MadCommander is written in Java, making it compatible with any system running Java Runtime Environment (JRE). It has been tested on 32-bit and 64-bit platforms across Mac OS X, Solaris, BSD, and Windows.
The application is distributed as a pre-built binary package in JAR format for easy installation. Simply download the latest version from Softpedia, save the file, and double-click to run. The source code is available via Subversion for advanced users.
