Mediadownloader FOR LINUX

Mediadownloader (ex GoogleImageDownloader) is an open source application that allows you to search, watch and download items from Google Image and YouTube. Search results are displayed in a scrollable view similar to how it appears on mobile devices. You will see thumbnails that match your search criteria. Simply double click to view, right click to access a menu where you can choose to download the image or video, remove it from downloads, or visit the webpage.

Features:

  • Search and download images and videos from Google Image and YouTube

  • Scrollable view for search results

  • Thumbnails matching search criteria

  • Option to set an image as wallpaper (supported on Gnome, KDE 3.5, and Windows)

  • Search for Top Rated, Top Favorites, Most Viewed on YouTube

  • Choose to remove and download specific items

  • Ajax search method for cases where Google changes search URL parameters

  • Compiled and tested with Qt 4.6.3 and 4.5.3

If you want to search for all images in a specific domain, simply leave the search field blank and fill in the "in this domain" field with the address of the site you want to search, for example, "www.flickr.com." In the YouTube tab, you can search for specific videos by entering their 11-character id.

Despite the app crashing with flash player plugin v10.1 when browsing on Linux i386, Mediadownloader offers a wide range of functionalities for image and video searching and downloading.

We hope you enjoy using Mediadownloader. Feel free to reach out with any comments, suggestions, or bug reports. Your feedback is valuable to us.
