MintLiner GTK3 theme is a cool GTK3.0 theme designed for GNOME 3. It's not just any theme; it’s inspired by the fresh vibes of the Minty Freshness (earlier version) LMDE.
This theme comes with the metacity theme (not mutter) from the Minty Freshness collection. Just a heads up, some parts of this theme are still in progress, so you might notice a few things missing.
This theme is based on the Adwaita engine, which means not every program will look like it should since it doesn’t include gtk2 themes. Some apps, like GIMP 2.6.11 and Firefox 4.0b12, haven’t switched to gtk3 yet and may not support this style.
I haven’t tried this on Ubuntu or Linux Mint yet, but it has been tested on the Gnome Live CD (OpenSuse), so I’d say it’s off to a good start!
It's kind of a bummer that Linux Mint 11 won’t ship with GNOME 3. But hey, fingers crossed for future releases!
GNOME is all about creating a complete desktop environment using free software. This includes building frameworks for software development and choosing applications for users' desktops while handling application launching and file management smoothly.
The GNOME project, part of the GNU Project, can run on various Unix-like systems—especially Linux—and even in Solaris as part of its Java Desktop System.
The name used to stand for GNU Network Object Model Environment, but that acronym isn't used anymore. The focus here is all about simplicity and usability—making sure everything just works without fuss!
