Description

MITCalc - Shells

MITCalc - Shells is a handy Excel add-in that helps experts crunch numbers for pressure vessels and their parts. It comes with a ready-made sheet where you just fill in the data needed for calculations, plus it even generates graphs!

Features of MITCalc - Shells

This software covers various types of shells, like cylindrical, conical, and spherical thin-wall shells, along with thick-wall versions too. You kick things off by editing some basic project info—think author name, file name, and any notes you want to jot down. The best part? There’s a sample file included when you download it to show you exactly how MITCalc - Shells works.

Selecting Materials and Units

Once you've tackled the project details, it’s time to pick your material and calculation unit. For example, you can choose Structural steel EC3 or Bronze. You can also change the modulus of elasticity, shear values, Poisson's ratio, temperature coefficient of expansion, specific mass, and yield strength as needed.

Customizing Your Calculations

If you're working with cylindrical (thin-walled), conical (thin-walled), or spherical (thin-walled) shells—or even thick-walled ones—you can adjust properties like shell thickness and length. You’ll also manage load per unit area here. And don’t worry about just numbers; the results are displayed in easy-to-read graphs too!

Additions Section for Enhanced Solutions

The software includes an additions section where you can fill out info to solve connections between two shells or tackle static tasks that are undetermined. Plus, MITCalc - Shells offers tables on a different sheet that you can study alongside adjustable options like UI language settings.

No Compatibility Issues!

You’ll be glad to know we didn't run into any compatibility issues with the latest versions of Excel or Windows during our tests. Overall, MITCalc - Shells makes calculating pressure vessels using Microsoft Excel super simple and straightforward! With practical options that are easy to understand, you'll be up and running in no time.
