NetBScanner

NetBScanner is a handy tool for network administrators. It helps keep an eye on all the workstations in your network and gives you detailed info about each computer. Using the NetBIOS protocol, this app can scan all the IP addresses you want within a specific range.

How Scanning Works

Whenever you start it up, it will ask you to enter the range of IP addresses to check out. By default, it picks up the range from your adapter settings, but feel free to tweak that if needed. You can also change how fast it scans! Just remember: while faster scans save time, they might also miss some computers since they rely on the NetBIOS protocol.

Important Note on Port 137

Make sure port 137, which is used by NetBIOS, isn’t blocked. Depending on how big of a range you’re scanning, the process could take more or less time to finish. When it’s done, the results pop up in the main window in a neat and organized way.

Your Scan Results

You’ll see IP addresses along with each computer's name, its workgroup, MAC address, and even who makes the network adapter (that info comes from the MAC address). This way, you can tell which PC is acting as a master browser!

Customizing Your View

If you'd like to customize what you see on-screen, you can choose which columns to show or hide and even change their order based on what works best for you.

Exporting Data Made Easy

You can select one or more records and export them into different formats like TXT files, CSVs, XMLs, HTM or HTML. Plus, if you're looking for something quick and simple without selecting items one by one,you can generate an HTML report that includes everything being displayed.
