Description

Network Whiteboard

Network Whiteboard is a great tool for anyone managing a large network. As an administrator, you need to always keep track of the status and availability of all devices. With Network Whiteboard, you can easily map out every part of your network in a fresh and easy-to-use space.

Getting Started with Network Whiteboard

Before you dive in, make sure your computer has the .NET Framework. It’s super important for the app to work smoothly. Chances are, it's already installed on your computer, so you're ready to check out all its cool features!

User-Friendly Design

Even though Network Whiteboard is all about networks, it’s designed like a simple drawing tool. You won't need any extra info from the web or your network to get started. Most of the window is your canvas where you can create your designs easily. There are some tabs that let you pick different components and a few customizable drawing tools.

Drag and Drop Elements

You can place elements on the canvas using drag-and-drop functionality! The tabs have various icons representing servers, routers, switches, Wi-Fi hotspots, tablets, laptops, and much more to help you make an accurate representation of your network.

Custom Drawing Options

If you want to get creative, you can also draw freely with either a pen or highlighter! You can customize these drawing tools in terms of transparency, head shape, color, and size. Plus, there’s a test pad available for making those fine-tuning adjustments!

Add External Images

You can use external pictures as objects or backgrounds too! Although it would be nice to have a layer manager since selected objects come to the top layer automatically.

Customizing Your Canvas View

You’ll find view options that allow you to tweak how your canvas looks. While you can't pick different colors directly for the background, using images can help with that! There are also presets available for grid types and sizes that make setting up easier. Once you're done creating your layout, don’t forget—you can save it as an image!

The Bottom Line

Overall, Network Whiteboard is perfect for putting together a simple plan for your network. The whole process feels intuitive thanks to its helpful drawing methods and tools. Even if there aren’t tons of preset objects available at first glance, being able to use external pictures really helps fill in those gaps.
