OpenEditor

OpenEditor is a really cool text editor that's perfect for programmers and anyone who's into coding. It lets you create and edit source code easily. Plus, it supports a bunch of programming languages like PL SQL, C++, Java, Shell, XML, SQR, and Perl.

User-Friendly Setup

Once you get through a quick setup, you're greeted with an interface that's super easy to use. There's even a built-in file explorer that helps you navigate through your files on disk so you can find what you need to edit without any hassle.

Find and Replace Features

You can easily find and replace text in your documents. Want to match the case or look for whole words only? No problem! OpenEditor also allows you to use regular expressions and search across all opened windows. Plus, it transforms backslash expressions and shows messages when you reach the end of the file (EOF).

Advanced Editing Options

This tool lets you set bookmarks to keep track of important spots in your code. You can search for specific strings in multiple files at once, sort selected text or an entire file, remove duplicates, indent or undent lines, normalize keywords, and even change text to uppercase or lowercase. Want to capitalize words? Done! You can also add or remove comments as needed.

Customizable Preferences

You have control over program preferences too. For instance, you can allow multiple instances of the app open at once or keep files locked while you're editing them. Need to overwrite read-only files? You can do that without needing confirmation each time!

Automatic Backups & Performance

The best part? OpenEditor automatically creates backups whenever you save a document. You can set how much memory it uses for undo actions and keep selections after editing too! The app lets you manage templates and customize fonts and colors as well.

A Free Option for Programmers

Overall, OpenEditor is free and packed with practical features that make coding easier in popular programming languages. During our tests, we found that it used minimal CPU and RAM. The app didn’t freeze up or crash on us either! Just keep in mind that it's still in beta development stage and doesn’t seem like it'll get more updates soon.
