Pastebinit

Pastebinit is a cool open-source command-line tool made with Python. It lets you quickly share any file to your favorite pastebin service right from the Linux Terminal. After you send the file, you'll get a URL back. Super handy, right?

Supported Pastebin Services

This software works with a bunch of pastebin services! You can use sprunge.us, pastie.org, paste.ubuntu.org.cn, fpaste.org, pb.daviey.com, slexy.org, paste.ubuntu.com, paste.kde.org, stikked.com, p.defau.lt, paste.debian.net, cxg.de, paste2.org, yourpaste.net, and even pastebin.com. That's quite a list!

Command-Line Options

If you're curious about what you can do with it, just type './pastebinit --help' in your terminal to see all the options at a glance. You can add your author name (the default is your UNIX username), choose which pastebin service to use (it defaults to http://pastebin.com), and even set the format of your paste (which defaults to 'text').

Extra Features

The program also lets you:

• List all supported pastebin services.


• Input login credentials if needed (username and password).


• Set a title for your paste (default is blank).


• Add a Jabber ID for notifications.


• Specify parent post IDs (defaults to none).


• Add permatags for all versions of a post (default is blank).

No Installation Needed!

The best part? You don't have to install anything! To get started with Pastebinit, just download the latest version from Softpedia and save it wherever you want. Unpack it and open up your terminal emulator. Navigate to where you extracted the files using the 'cd' command and run it by typing './pastebinit' along with any options you want to use.
