pcANYWHERE Hosts Scanner is a user-friendly app built in Visual Basic that helps you scan an IP address range. It finds all the nearby hosts that have pcANYWHERE running on your TCP/IP network. Pretty neat, right?

How It Works

This tool sends out a special UDP packet to gather info and check data, then brings back the response for you. The best part? You don’t need to be a networking whiz to use it. There are no tricky settings or complex options, so anyone can jump right in!

No Installation Needed

You won't even have to deal with installations! Just extract the program files to a spot on your hard drive or even a USB flash drive. Then you can launch it on any computer without breaking a sweat.

Lightweight and Clean

The app is super clean; it doesn’t mess with your Windows registry or create extra files without asking first. Just keep in mind, it does require some Visual Basic runtime files.

User Interface

The interface of pcANYWHERE Hosts Scanner is pretty basic—it’s just a simple window that shows all the options available. You can enter your starting and ending IP addresses and hit the button to start scanning.

Quick Scanning Process

The scanning doesn’t take too long, but it might depend on how many addresses you're checking out. If it's taking forever or you change your mind, you can easily cancel it.

View Detected Hosts

If there are any hosts with pcANYWHERE detected, they’ll show up in the main window along with their hostnames and IP addresses—one per line. While there aren’t buttons for copying or exporting this data, you can select text and copy it using hotkeys or right-clicking.

A Simple Solution

Even though pcANYWHERE Hosts Scanner hasn’t been updated in ages and its design could use some love, it's still a handy tool for finding pcANYWHERE hosts within an IP range. Plus, during our tests, we found that CPU and RAM usage was minimal!
