Description

PhonixJ

PhonixJ is a really simple, free, and open-source phone book app that’s lightweight and smart. It’s built in Java and uses an SQLite database on the back end, along with the SWT graphical library. So whether you’re using GNU/Linux, Windows, or Mac, this app has got you covered!

Key Features of PhonixJ

The best part? It has an easy-to-use interface that anyone can figure out! You can organize your contacts into categories and save up to four phone numbers and email addresses for each person. Plus, you can even add websites for your contacts. And don’t worry about finding someone; it has advanced search options to make it super easy!

Useful Tools Included

This application comes packed with handy tools. You can add or remove contacts easily, create vCard 3.0 cards, and even make contact cards in SVG format. Need to send emails? The app lets you set up email envelope addresses too.

Sophisticated Search Engine

A cool feature is its powerful search engine that helps you quickly filter through all your contacts. Want to print something? It also offers customizable printing options! Plus, it supports web browsers and email clients.

Importing and Exporting Contacts

If you need to move around your contacts in bulk, PhonixJ supports importing and exporting in VCF 3.0 format easily.

Emailing Made Easy

You can select multiple email addresses directly from the app to send emails without any hassle. And it works well with the KContact application too! Oh, and since version 1.0.3, you can even record notes for your contacts.

Cross-Platform Compatibility

If you're curious about what makes PhonixJ tick—it's entirely written in Java using SWT technology for its interface. This means it's cross-platform! It works on any system where Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is available—so all Linux distributions are good to go along with Mac OS X and Windows OSes too!
