Pinot is an open source and freely downloadable graphical application that has been designed from the offset to act as personal search and metasearch solution for your GNU/Linux operating system/desktop environment.

If Pinot is available for download from the Software Center app of your GNU/Linux distribution, we recommend installing it from there as no pre-built binaries or source packages are available for direct download.

When Pinot starts (accessible from the Accessories menu), it prompts you to configure settings such as indexed directories, file patterns, labels, network proxy, search term suggestions, Amazon API ID, and more.

Pinot is compatible with all GNU/Linux operating systems and supports both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms. The latest version is available in the main software repositories of major distributions.
