Description

Port Pinger

Port Pinger is a handy little command-line tool that helps you check which ports are open or closed on any host in your local network. All you need to do is enter the computer's IP address and the port number you want to check, and you're good to go!

How Easy Is It to Use?

The best part? You don't have to install anything! Port Pinger comes in a single .exe file, so just copy it wherever you want on your hard drive or even on a USB stick. This means you can easily use it on any PC without a hassle. Just remember, it does need the .NET Framework to work right. The cool thing is that it won't clutter your system with new files or registry entries.

Simplified Interface for Everyone

I know some folks struggle with console commands, but don't worry! This tool is super straightforward. You only need one line of code with two parameters: pping [ip] [port]. It's that simple!

Checking Ports Made Simple

You can only check using the IP address of the remote PC because it doesn’t recognize host names. If you want to check ports on your own computer, just use 127.0.0.1 as the IP address.

Your Results Are Ready Fast!

The checking process doesn’t take long at all! When it's done, you'll see whether the port is open or closed. And guess what? Port Pinger doesn't close automatically after checking, so you can quickly scan another port without restarting it.

No Performance Issues Here!

This lightweight tool won’t slow down your computer either! In our tests, Port Pinger ran smoothly and got the job done quickly without any hiccups. Even though it hasn’t been updated recently, we found no compatibility issues with newer Windows versions.

Limitations to Keep in Mind

However, Port Pinger does have its limits—it can only check one port at a time because it doesn't offer options for scanning multiple ports at once or creating lists of all ports and their status. But if you're looking for a simple port checker, this tool gets the job done!
