Requirements to Get Started
Requirements:
- PowerDNS Dynamic RPM/DEB Version 2.1 or higher
- PowerDNS Backend Development Kit Version 2.1 or higher
- gcc 3.0
- gcc 3.0 libraries
Installation Steps
If you've got all those requirements checked off, you're ready to install! Just run 'make' followed by 'make install' as root user. If your Oracle client isn't in /opt/oracle or if the development kit is located somewhere else, you'll need to edit the Makefile.
Enabling Your New Backend
If everything goes smoothly during installation, PowerDNS will now be able to access the 'oracle' backend! To enable it, just add 'launch=oracle' in the documentation settings.
