Prismstumbler is a handy tool for discovering wireless LANs (WLAN). It’s like having a radar for Wi-Fi signals! This software scans for beacon frames coming from access points to help you find networks around you.
How Prismstumbler Works
So, how does it work? Well, Prismstumbler constantly switches between channels and keeps an eye on the frames it receives on the selected channel. It’s pretty cool because it helps gather lots of info about wireless LAN setups.

This tool comes with a simple GTK2 frontend that makes it easy to use. Plus, it's small enough to fit on a portable system, so you can take it with you anywhere!
Flexible Architecture

The current GTK user interface looks good on both big PC screens and smaller PDA displays. Also, Prismstumbler uses an embedded SQL database to store all the network information it gathers.
Advanced Capabilities
