Description
PSX2PSP
PSX2PSP is a handy tool that lets you transfer your PSX games to your PSP, especially if you're using firmware versions like 3.03 OE-A, 3.03 OE-A', or 3.03 OE-B. It’s super easy to use and can help you enjoy those classic games on the go!
Convert Your Games with Ease
With this tool, you can create an image of your PSX discs and even convert it to NTSC format if that’s what you need. Just make sure you have Wine installed on your system for everything to work smoothly.
Automatic GameCode Detection
One cool feature is that it automatically detects the GameCode from the CD image. If you want, you can change it yourself if it doesn’t fit your vibe.
Customize Your Game Images
You can also choose personal images for your game, like icons and screen backgrounds (this is recommended!). The program will generate an image that includes the title and game code data automatically.
Create Manuals Easily
A new addition is the ability to create a manual for your PSX game from a PDF file or from a folder containing images. The cool part? The images can be in any ImageMagick format and size, and the program will adjust them for you!
PBP Compression Settings
You get to configure how PBP files are compressed through the menu. When you're done, all your game files will be saved in one folder named after the game code.
Running PSX2PSP from Command Line
If you're into command lines, just invoke the program by typing psx2psp PSX_IMAGE_FILE
, or simply execute psx2psp
. On first run, it’ll ask for required files and settings.
Requirements:
- kdialog (KDE)
- ImageMagick (convert)
- PdfToolKit (pdftoppm)
- Cdrdao
- Popstation
- Docmaker
- wine (optional)
If you don’t have Popstation or Docmaker compiled yet, just go into their source folders and type ~.> make
. Make sure to put those binaries somewhere in your $PATH – we recommend $HOME/bin.
You’ll also want to copy psx2psp
, psx2psp.en
, and psx2psp.es
scripts into a folder in your $PATH. Only psx2psp would be executable; others are language files.
Add Your Backgrounds & Icons!
The last step includes copying background images like background.png
, background2.png
, and screenpsp.png
. You’ll get prompted about where these should go later on! Also, don’t forget to place psx2pspicon.png in either /usr/share/icons or in $HOME/.kde/share/icons (that’s recommended!). For users wanting a desktop shortcut with PSX2PSP.desktop, just copy psx
