PureAdmin is a handy graphical tool that helps you manage and keep an eye on your PureFTPd FTP server. If you’ve been struggling with FTP management, this software is here to make things a bit easier for you.
Features of PureAdmin
This project comes packed with some great features! First off, it has a user manager that lets you control access easily. You can also see what’s happening in real-time with uploads and downloads, plus check the log files as they update.
User-Friendly Design
What’s cool is that PureAdmin doesn’t rely on GNOME; it only needs GTK+ 2.x. Still, it follows the GNOME Human Interface Guidelines to ensure everything feels familiar and easy to use.

- A list of system changes required before using the user manager.
- A progress bar to show download and upload progress—super useful!
Bugs Squashed!
No one likes bugs, right? So here are some fixes included in this update:
- PureAdmin won’t fail if the PureFTPD activity directory is missing anymore. On Ubuntu, this folder gets deleted on reboot but now PureAdmin understands that!
- The software has better handling when creating FTP user and group accounts, plus directories.
- Easier debugging options—no need to recompile just to enable debug output!
- PureAdmin checks /proc to see if PureFTPD is running instead of relying on PID files which makes it more reliable.
