QuickNXS


QuickNXS is a handy tool for crunching numbers and analyzing data, especially when it comes to magnetism reflectometers. It's packed with features that help users process polarized ToF reflectivity data from NeXus files and whip up cool graphs and histograms.



Who Can Use QuickNXS?


Now, here's the deal: QuickNXS isn't exactly for everyone. It's tailored for physicists who are diving into magnetism studies. If you're familiar with reflectivity models, you'll find it super useful!



Navigating the Interface


The interface might look a bit busy at first glance, but that's because it offers so much in terms of data processing options. You kick things off by entering the number of a direct beam dataset. Once you load the corresponding raw nexus file, all your plot windows will fill up right away! You'll see X and Y projections along with the reflectivity graph.



Getting Accurate Results


QuickNXS is smart—it automatically calculates reduction parameters to help you get spot-on results! Just keep in mind that this feature works best if your scan numbers for direct beam measurements are lower than the actual ones. If not, no worries! You can still do the reduction manually step by step, which gives you even more control over everything.



Advanced Data Features


With QuickNXS, generating 2D Q-maps and 1D line projections or reflectivity curves from raw data is a breeze! It can also detect peaks in your graphs automatically and lets you compare different raw datasets effortlessly.



Extracting Data & Customization


You can pull out specular, off-specular, or GISANS data as needed. Plus, there are options to set scaling and configure cutting points while performing normalization and polarization adjustments. The built-in Python console is pretty neat too—it allows you to load external scripts right into QuickNXS!



Exporting Your Analysis


The results from your analysis can be easily exported based on selected reductions and spin states you want to save. And if you're looking to share your findings? You can send reports straight from the app via email!
