rainbarf is a cool open-source command-line tool. It helps you create neat resource usage chart bars that look great in the status line of tmux and GNU screen applications. If you're looking to keep track of your system resources in a visually pleasing way, this tool is perfect for you!
Getting started with rainbarf is super easy! First, you need to download the latest version. You can find it in the Downloads section or grab it via Git. Once you've downloaded it, just extract the archive and pop open your Linux Terminal.
Now, follow these simple commands:
perl Build.PL
./Build test
./Build install
After installation, you'll want to set it up so it shows up in your tmux or GNOME Terminal. For tmux, add this line to your ~/.tmux.conf file:
set -g status-right '#(rainbarf)'
If you're using GNOME Terminal, you can tweak it like this:
set -g status-right '#(rainbarf --bright)'
Your changes won’t take effect until you reload the tmux config. To do that, run this command:
tmux source-file ~/.tmux.conf
This will refresh everything and let you see those lovely chart bars!
