Description

Rspamd

Rspamd is a cool open-source filtering tool you can use on Linux and UNIX systems. It was made to replace the well-known spamassassin daemon, which many people used before. What’s great about Rspamd is that it’s super fast and flexible! It’s written in C and designed to handle connections without getting bogged down.

Key Features of Rspamd

So, what makes Rspamd stand out? For starters, it has awesome support for SURBL filters, fuzzy hashes, and even regular expression rules to filter different parts of messages. Plus, it comes with built-in tools to help analyze those messages easily. Oh, and it supports character tables for emails too! You can even manage it remotely and gather statistics.

Extendability with Plugins

If you’re into customization, you’ll love that Rspamd is highly extendable! You can use a Lua or Perl-based plugin system to add more features. It also has built-in stats support (Winnow/OSB) and auto-learning capabilities. And guess what? It works perfectly with the spamassassin tool!

User-Friendly Interface

Now, since Rspamd runs as a daemon, once you start it up, it hangs out in the background—kind of like a silent partner. But don’t worry; you can still manage everything through its web-based admin interface.

How to Install Rspamd

If you want to install it, just head over to Softpedia, download the latest version, and unzip it wherever you like. Open up your terminal emulator and navigate to where the files are extracted. Run the command cmake . to set things up, then run make to compile everything. Finally, type make install, but make sure you're logged in as root so that it installs system-wide. Remember not to include quotes when typing these commands!

Your Fast Solution for Email Filtering!

Rspamd is not just fast; it's reliable too! It's fully built in C and meant specifically for GNU/Linux systems. You can grab a universal source archive or clone it from Git if that's more your style. Many Linux distributions even have Rspamd available right in their software repositories—so installing might be easier than you think! Plus, it's compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware.
