Description
Screen Translator
Screen Translator is a super handy tool that mixes a translation feature with an OCR engine. What does that mean for you? It lets you quickly translate any text on your screen, no matter where it is showing up!
Easy Text Translation
When you have the app running in your system tray, it’s really simple to use. Just hit a key combination that you set up, and then drag to select the area of your screen that has the text you want to translate. It's like magic!
How It Works
This cool tool uses Tesseract's OCR engine to read the text from whatever part of the screen you highlighted. Once you’ve selected the text, it shows the translation right away. You can see it in a little popup window below your original text or as a notification balloon – totally your choice!
Clipboard Convenience
If you want to save the translation, there’s another key combo just for that! It sends the translated text straight to your clipboard so you can easily paste it wherever you need. And if that popup stays on too long, just click on it to make it disappear.
No Stress with Mistakes
If by chance you accidentally click away from the popup balloon, don’t stress! Screen Translator lets you repeat your last translation using a shortcut key. It’s all about keeping things easy for you.
Language Support Limitations
This tool relies on Google Translate and supports lots of languages for translating, but here’s a catch: Tesseract currently only works with English as source text. That might be a downside since being able to translate from any language would really boost its usefulness.
A Must-Have Tool
If you're tired of bouncing around online services just to find out what a word means, this software saves time and effort! Whether you're translating professionally or just trying to learn a new language on your own, Screen Translator is definitely worth checking out!
