Sherman's Aquarium is a fun little app that works as a screensaver, a GNOME panel applet, and even a dock applet! It gives you a lively aquarium filled with fish and turtles right on your screen.
In its applet mode, you can see lots of cool information like CPU load, temperatures, memory usage, and more. Both the applet and the screensaver are super customizable. So, you can tweak it to fit your style!
This software is also an xscreensaver hack, plus it's compatible with window maker and GNOME too. It features an aquarium with randomly selected fish swimming around. And guess what? You can also add other sea creatures into your aquarium!
One of the best parts? This aquarium takes care of itself! You don’t need to feed the fish or clean anything. Plus, the temperature scale on the right side shows your CPU load in real-time.
You can also set it up to show the current time and keep track of numlock, capslock, and scrollock status. The animated fish are created by Jim Toomey, who is known for his awesome "Sherman's Lagoon" comics. For more details about it all, check out the README file!
