This is where Silent Start comes in! It’s a super simple app that runs quietly in the background. It checks your Mac's volume and mutes it before rebooting. Once you're logged back in, it restores the volume just like it was before.

Control Your Startup Sounds

You can easily switch the startup sound on or off using Silent Start's menulet. Just remember: for it to work, the app has to be running on your Mac. If you close it before restarting, surprise! The chime will still ring out and scare your pets.

Set It and Forget It

You can also set Silent Start to launch automatically when you log in. Plus, it'll let you know when it's turned your volume back up after you've booted up again. The Preferences window lets you configure alerts too—like when your headphones are plugged in.
