Siproxd FOR LINUX
Siproxd is a proxy/masquerading daemon designed for the SIP protocol. It effectively manages registrations of SIP clients on a private IP network and conducts rewriting of SIP message bodies to facilitate SIP connections through a masquerading firewall (NAT).
Key Features:
- Enables SIP software and hardware clients to function behind an IP masquerading firewall or NAT router
- Supports SIP, the preferred protocol for VoIP phones, in initiating communication
- Offers an alternative solution to traverse NAT alongside STUN or SIP-aware NAT routers
- Requires libosip2 installation for seamless operations
Technical Specifications:
- Ensure libposip2 libraries are located in /usr/local/lib
- Include the library path to /etc/ld.so.conf
- Configuration steps:
- Run './configure'
- Execute 'make'
- Conclude with 'make install'
- Adjust /usr/etc/siproxd.conf as per your requirements, specifically 'if_inbound' and 'if_outbound'
- Edit /usr/etc/siproxd_passwd.cfg if client authentication is enabled in siproxd.conf
- Initiate siproxd without root privileges using the command '$ siproxd'
