Description
SiriMote
SiriMote is a cool app that lets you use your Apple TV Siri Remote with your Mac. Without it, all you can do is test Apple TV apps in the Xcode Simulator. But with SiriMote, you can control any macOS app that works with media keys. How awesome is that?
How to Connect Your Remote
When you open the SiriMote main window, you'll find easy-to-follow instructions for connecting your Apple TV Siri Remote to your Mac. Just go to System Preferences, then Bluetooth. Press the Menu and Volume Up buttons on your remote for about 5 seconds, and then hit the Pair button on your computer. Simple, right?
Important Note!
Just a heads-up: make sure your Apple TV is turned off and unplugged while you do this! If you want to use the remote again with your Apple TV, you'll need to unpair it from the list of Bluetooth devices on your Mac and repeat the pairing process.
Control macOS Apps Easily
SiriMote changes commands from your Apple TV Siri Remote into keyboard shortcuts. This means you can use it for any macOS app that supports media keys like iTunes, Keynote, QuickTime Player, VLC Player, and more! Plus, you can even control the system volume.
Make Media Playback Fun!
Want to control playback? Just press buttons on the Apple TV Siri Remote when you're using a media player! You can start or pause videos, adjust volume levels, skip tracks forward or back, and even rewind or fast forward through movies or songs. If you're presenting with Keynote, it's super easy to switch slides!
Wrap-Up
In short, SiriMote gives you a great way to use your Apple TV Siri Remote for various macOS apps. Just remember that if you want to switch back to using it with your Apple TV again later on, you'll need to re-pair it first.
