Skippy is like a full-screen task switcher for X11, and it’s super handy when you have a ton of apps open. Sometimes those regular taskbars just don’t cut it. With Skippy, you can quickly see all your windows on the current desktop and easily pick one to focus on.
When you activate Skippy (you do this with a hotkey—right now it’s set to F11), it shows snapshots of all your open windows. You can choose which one you want using either your mouse or keyboard. Just hover over a window with your mouse or use the arrow keys to navigate through them.
You can also use some cool modifiers with the hotkey! For example, if you hold down Control while pressing F11, Skippy will refresh the snapshots of all windows. If you press Mod1 (that’s the Alt key) while hitting the hotkey, it’ll only show windows from whatever app is currently focused. And if you're using multiple screens with Xinerama support, holding Shift lets you see windows across all monitors.
