What is Tame My CPU FOR LINUX?

Tame My CPU FOR LINUX

Tame My CPU is a super handy interface for the cpufreq-set and cpulimit command-line tools. Basically, it helps you manage your CPU's performance. If your hardware allows it, you can adjust the CPU frequency with one tool, while the other lets you set a limit on how much of your CPU resources any running application can use. This is great because it helps keep your CPU from overheating and makes sure it lasts longer.

Why Use Tame My CPU?

Using Tame My CPU is all about keeping your system running smoothly without stressing out your hardware. By managing how much power each app uses, you're protecting your computer from getting too hot and potentially shutting down or failing.

Requirements

To get started, you’ll need:

  • Kommander

What's New in This Release?

This latest version brings some awesome updates:

  • Support for kosd (a really cool application)

  • A new slider control for selecting the percentage of CPU usage easily

  • You can now enter apps that aren’t on the list using a free text input field!

  • A .desktop file has been added (just remember to change it after moving the .kmdr file)

  • An icon (in PNG format) is now included too!

  • The user interface has had a nice makeover!

  • A “reset ulimit” button was added in case you accidentally leave it running in memory after closing the main app (great for when you need to kill it).
