Description

Tcpreplay

Tcpreplay is an awesome, open-source tool made for testing network devices. It's super handy and works through the command line. Developed in C, it helps you use captured traffic to see how your network setup holds up. It’s compatible with *NIX operating systems, so whether you’re on GNU/Linux, Solaris, BSD, or even Mac OS X, you’re good to go!

What Does Tcpreplay Do?

This software comes packed with some cool command-line tools like tcpprep, tcprewrite, tcpreplay, and tcpbridge. These tools let you:

  • Classify network traffic into server and client.

  • Replay captured traffic back onto the network.

  • Rewrite TCP/IP headers and handle Layer 2, 3, and 4 stuff.

  • Bridge two different network segments.

Who Can Use Tcpreplay?

Tcpreplay is perfect for anyone wanting to test out their routers or security devices. Whether it's an IPS (Intrusion Prevention System), UTM (Unified Threat Management) device, firewall, or a NIDS (Network Intrusion Detection System), this tool has got you covered!
