Throughline is a super handy tool for organizing your ideas during brainstorming sessions. You know how easy it is to lose great thoughts if you don’t jot them down? This app lets you put topics on different index cards and even create sub-cards for more info!

Easy to Use

Working with Throughline is a breeze! It comes with some ready-made cards and quick instructions, so you can dive right in without wasting time.

Create Your Card Decks

Creating a new card deck takes just two clicks. Then, you're free to fill it up with as many cards as you want and place them wherever on the board. The default layout is “freestyle,” which means you can drag and drop cards anywhere. There’s also an option to snap them to a grid or line them up, and if that helps, you can even make a timeline!

Add or Remove Cards Easily

You can add or take away cards using the buttons in the toolbar or the menu. Just a heads-up, there aren’t any keyboard shortcuts for these actions, so you'll need your mouse. Plus, keep in mind that if you accidentally delete a card, there’s no undo button to bring it back—that’s definitely something they could improve on.

Customize Your Cards

The best part? You can customize each card’s content and look! Thanks to the built-in text editor, you can tweak the text and title with different fonts, colors, effects, and alignments. Plus, cards can store clickable URLs and links to files saved on your computer.

Organize with Sub-Cards

A single card can have multiple sub-cards too! This feature helps you build a hierarchy of ideas easily. If a card has sub-cards linked to it, you'll see a little symbol at its bottom corner.

Exporting Your Ideas

With Throughline, once you've organized all your thoughts on those index cards, exporting your data is simple! You can save everything as an image or an RTF file that works with any text reader.
