Ubuntu Hanso Theme

Ubuntu Hanso Theme is a cool, dark brown GTK theme that looks great while still being super user-friendly. It’s designed to be comfortable in different lighting, so you won’t have to keep switching between dark and light themes.

A Bit About Its Design

This theme is based on Metacity, which has some tweaks from Didymous, and the scrollbars are inspired by the Hyo Theme. The main goal here is to keep contrast strong and make sure it works well in various lighting situations. I know how annoying it can be to change themes just because the sun went down!

Nautilus and Toolbar Features

You’ll notice that Nautilus keeps its toolbar separators, which is something a lot of hybrid themes skip. Plus, there’s a darker gradient added to the toolbars using a pixmap engine. This gives it a fresh, modern look—just like those earlier versions of Dust that we all loved.

How to Install the Theme

If you want to try out this theme, here’s how:

• Right-click on your desktop and choose Change Desktop Background.


• Click on the first tab: Theme.


• Drag and drop the theme's archive into the Appearance Preferences window.


• If everything goes smoothly, you’ll see a confirmation message. Just click on it to activate your new look!
