VirtualDesktop Description
The latest iteration of Windows brought about a pretty important feature, namely multiple desktops. However, these were around for quite a while in the form of third-party applications. A suitable example in this regard is VirtualDesktop, letting you work on more desktops with a great deal of comfort, while easily switching between them.
Note that the application doesn’t take you through a setup process, so you can see what it can do for you from the moment the download is done. It fits on a thumb drive in case you want to use it on other computers. Just make sure that the computer you use it on is fitted with .NET Framework to enable proper functionality.
Key Features:
- Supports multiple virtual desktops
- Easy switching between desktops
- Compact window with previews
- Maximum of four virtual desktops
- Restore window positions on relaunch
Additional Information:
All supported virtual desktops become active as soon as the application is launched.
A compact window shows up, displaying individual previews of each desktop in a cleverly delimited environment.
Unfortunately, you need to use the main window every time you wish to switch to a different desktop, as there’s no support for hotkey commands for an easier approach.
Conclusion:
VirtualDesktop isn’t really prepared to help you easily deal with multiple windows on different environments. Navigation doesn’t provide the necessary comfort for an easy switch, while windows only remain active in the main desktop when the program is closed.
