Description

VisualBoyAdvance Link

VisualBoyAdvance Link is a free and open-source software that runs on multiple platforms. It's a cool clone of the VisualBoyAdvance Link app, which was originally designed for Windows. This version is made by denopqrihg and works great on Linux!

Features of VisualBoyAdvance Link

This software supports multiplayer options for Game Boy Advance (GBA) and SP. You can even run up to four Game Boy emulators at once! It combines features from both VBA-M and VBALink, giving you awesome link cable emulation support, joystick compatibility, and a handy "General Purpose" module. This module lets you play games like Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

User-Friendly Interface

The graphical user interface (GUI) is pretty straightforward. When you pick a game, it shows an image representing it right away. Plus, every time you start a game, your settings are saved automatically.

Installing VisualBoyAdvance Link

If you're looking to install VisualBoyAdvance Link on your GNU/Linux system, don't worry—it's easy! Just make sure you're ready to use a terminal emulator. First, download the latest version from Softpedia and save the file on your computer.

After unpacking the file, open your Terminal app. Use the 'cd' command to go to where you saved the files (like cd /home/softpedia/VisualBoyAdvance_Link-master). Then type in 'sudo sh setup.sh' and follow what it says on-screen to get everything set up.

Launching the Software

Once it's installed, you can find it in your desktop environment's main menu. The program opens with an easy-to-use interface so you can quickly choose a game and start playing! You can also tweak various settings to make your gaming experience better. Plus, it's available in both English and French!

Technical Details

Diving into how it's built—VisualBoyAdvance Link is written entirely in C++. For its GUI, technologies like Java, Eclipse, and IcedTea were used.

Supported Platforms

This software is compatible with all GNU/Linux distributions as well as Mac OS X and Windows systems that have the latest Java Runtime Environment installed. Both 64-bit and 32-bit versions are supported too!
