Voice Analyzer is a lightweight Mac OS X application that provides basic means of analyzing the spectrum and spectrogram of a human voice. Moreover, it also provides a minimalistic formant visualizer.
The user interface of Voice Analyzer consists of 3 different windows: the Voice Analyzer, which provides all the configurable parameters, the Spectrum and the Spectrogram. Each window can be moved to any area on your desktop and resized to fit any screen.
From the Voice Analyzer window, you can adjust the spectrogram and spectrum values (using sliders), choose to include formats, adjust the formants normalization, and set the frequency (5.5 kHz, 11 kHz, or 22 kHz).
You can toggle options to show the spectrogram grid, colorize the spectrogram, display the humming window, and display the frequencies on the spectrogram.
Taking every aspect into consideration, the Voice Analyzer application does a good job, considering its low-cost price. It condenses a good number of functions in a small package that allows you to accurately visualize sounds and voices. The application is not made for professional voice analysis but rather for the curious user.
