Word Generator

Word Generator is a handy tool that creates random strings of uppercase letters. You can choose any letters you want and set how many times each letter appears. Pretty cool, right?

What You Should Know

First off, let’s clear something up: this tool doesn't make real words like you'd find in a dictionary, even though its name might make you think otherwise.

No Installation Needed!

This program comes in a single .exe file, which means you don’t have to install anything. That makes it super portable! You can just copy it to any folder or even drop it onto a USB stick. So, you can use the random word generator on any computer without needing to set it up again. Unlike other software, it won’t mess with your system registry or create extra files.

User-Friendly Interface

The interface is straightforward, with everything laid out in one window. There's also a menu bar with options for file and editing tasks.

How It Works

You’ll see all the letters listed alphabetically, and each letter has little arrows next to it. These arrows let you change how many times each letter shows up in your random string. The number of times you set is shown right next to each letter in brackets.

Resetting Your Settings

A small downside is that your settings reset every time you run a new randomization task. This means you'll need to start from scratch each time instead of adjusting the previous setup.

Results at Your Fingertips

The tool shows all possible combinations as a list—one word per line—based on what you've selected for letters and their counts. You can even see how many words were generated and easily copy any word to your clipboard!

A Few Hiccups

However, we did hit some snags during testing. When we tried to copy all the words at once on different versions of Windows (both old and new), things didn’t work as expected.

The option to select all text was grayed out in the "Edit" menu, and using Ctrl+A didn’t help either. It’s kind of disappointing since this tool hasn’t been updated in ages and lacks some features that would make it more useful.
