X File Explorer (also known as Xfe) is a cool open-source file manager that works for UNIX and Linux systems. If you're used to Microsoft Explorer, you'll feel right at home with this one!
What is X File Explorer?
X File Explorer is built on the old-school X Win Commander software, which was created by Maxim Baranov. Even though X Win Commander isn’t around anymore, X File Explorer keeps that spirit alive! It’s simple to use and lets you manage your files easily.
Handy Keyboard Shortcuts
One of the best things about X File Explorer is all the keyboard shortcuts you can use to speed things up. Here’s a handy list:
- Help: F1
- View: F3 (or return)
- Edit: F4
- Copy: F5 (or ctrl-c)
- Cut: ctrl-x
- Paste: ctrl-v
- Move: F6 (or ctrl-d)
- Rename: ctrl-n
- Delete: F8 (or del or ctrl-del)
- Create Symlink: ctrl-s
- Create New File: F2
- Create New Folder: F7
- Edit Properties: F9
