Easy Command Setup

With the right setup, you can use XBindKeys to launch lots of Linux shell commands just by tapping on your keyboard or clicking your mouse. For instance, if you want to start an xterm session, just hit CTRL+ALT+X!

Custom Keybindings

This software shows you the current keybindings and allows you to select which X11 display to use. Plus, it gives detailed info about XBindKeys whenever it runs, helping you identify any pressed keys with ease.

Command-Line Options

Just like other command-line tools, XBindKeys comes packed with various options! You can check them out quickly by running 'xbindkeys --help' in your Terminal app.

Features Galore!

Some features include using an alternative guile configuration file, pulling updates from either guile or rc config files, recognizing multiple key presses, adjusting window size and position, or even choosing not to run as a daemon.

Installation Made Simple

If you're wondering how to install XBindKeys on a Linux distribution, it's super simple! First off, download the source package from either Softpedia or the project's website. Save that archive in your Home directory and unpack it.

Getting Started with Installation

Next up, open a terminal emulator app. Navigate to where you extracted the files (like cd /home/softpedia/xbindkeys-1.8.6), then run './configure && make' to set up and compile the program.
