XP Transformation Pack

XP Transformation Pack is a cool package that totally changes your GNOME desktop to look just like Windows XP! If you’ve ever missed that classic vibe, this is the perfect way to bring it back. Let’s walk through how to get your desktop looking spiffy!

Getting Started with Installation

First, you’ll need to install gnomenu. You can grab it from /gnoemnu/gnomenu-2.9.tar.gz. Once you have that, add gnomenu to your panel and apply the gnomenu theme. It’s pretty straightforward!

Adding Themes and Icons

Next up, let’s jazz things up with some GTK themes. You’ll want to install a few files: /Gtk/LUNE-EVO.tar.gz, /Gtk/xp-cursor.tar.gz, and /Icons/GnomeXP.tar.gz. These will give your desktop that XP touch.

Setting Your Wallpaper

No desktop transformation is complete without a proper wallpaper! Set yours to /Kingsize_XP_Bliss_by_PacMani.jpg. It really sets the mood!

Tweaking Panel Settings

If you want your panel to look just right, right-click on it and go to properties. Change the height to 33px for that authentic feel. Then, head over to the background tab in the panel properties window. Choose Background Image and navigate to /Panel Bg/taskbar.png.
