ADT Plug-In is a cool tool that helps you create a stereo effect from a mono input signal. Let me break it down for you!
You know how when you're recording something, there can be a little delay between when you hit record and when you actually hear the sound? That's because of the distance between the record and playback heads. The signal takes time to travel, and this delay can change based on how fast the tape is running. So, if the tape runs slower, it takes longer for that signal to get from one head to the other.
Now, here's where it gets interesting! With some small variations in speed called Wow and Flutter, this delay isn't always fixed. It can wiggle a bit, which creates an extra chorus-like effect. It's like adding some flavor to your sound!
The ADT Plug-In takes your mono signal and splits it into two channels: one for the original sound and another for the new ADT effect. You can even mix them together if you want! This gives you more options to play with.
This plug-in isn't just about making sounds; it's also about control! You get to set how long that delay lasts (between 10 - 50ms) and adjust the Wow and Flutter effects with intensity percentages as well as frequency settings. These values come from the original tape machines used back in the day.
