ALSOG

The numerous advantages of Lindenmayer systems, regardless of the field of application, come at the expense of their inherent complexity. This means that in order to be able to work with them and the resulting data in a digital context, users require specialized tools, which can properly address their characteristics and offer means of visualizing the data. ALSOG is one such specialized app, which was designed specifically in order to offer users a set of tools for parsing, interpreting, and in the end, rendering the resulting tree data of Lindenmayer systems.

Designed around a platform that offers both visualization and data handling capabilities, the application will allow users to input information from a wide range of Lindenmayer systems-based data, such as stochastic, context-sensitive or, parametric.

The application also addresses the data from a symbol interpretation point of view, enabling users to work with pre-set or standard values and it supports a wide range of 3D shapes, as well as diverse coloring for the corresponding objects.

Last but not least, users can at all times perform screenshots of the loaded data, in its current position and with the current status and they can also manually set the number of required iterations.

A solid set of exporting tools allow one to easily save the loaded objects to a multitude of formats, therefore achieving better interoperability if further processing is required using other software that does not accept the proprietary formats.

This application possesses all the necessary traits for opening, handling, and exporting tree data when dealing with Lindenmayer systems, all under an accessible and user-friendly package.
